Speaking of me-
I feel like we need clowns running from side to side
oh- well here goes-----
over 20 years ago - I decided sinse I always was "IN THE DOGS" to really go to the dogs
I did on my own- have a top obed. dobe (who I bred) totally trained and shown by me.
I also bred a 9 chinese crested and some years before that a #9 min-pin
(or as Rick said #1 in black)
all of these breedings were well thought out - with 3 or less crosses to produce.
during this time - I wondered what to do to pay back the dog breed for making my life happier- I
was voted an honorary the local humane society for my acts of thanking the dog breeds.
I have worked for 20 years as a part-time vet teck - part time groomer with the local vet
I trainer under the best in the area obed. and conformation people- their help - like Suzette Wells (obed. trainer) made my winnings possible.
I truely think that if that if we strife to better the breed that we can have OUTSTANDING BREEDS-----
temperment and conformation
Now , hopefully, some read on-and of some of my experiences. (Although yes , because of fear 95% of my kids are on limited registration) will think about what I have to say.
Mostly the PUBLIC is uninformed or haven't come to an understanding of dogs (of an animal) isn't it best to help a few?
I needed get on my soap box but snubbing and not helping those new crestie (or whatever breed) people only keeps them from your line - it does NOT protect the breed at all. And they will probadly buy from someone that doesn't care at all.
So with no help they become poor show/breeders and clueless.
YEARS back , I met a dog loving woman- selling breeds of puppies to a broker- NOW true - I saw her loving side 1st.
But she wanted to after some time with seeing me and my dobes to have that dog- person relationship.
I co-owned a dog with her- paid for her obedience classes, she got 2nd place at a big obedience trial.
She placed those puppy mill dogs-
yes - we tried a good cross for her nice- special obedience dobe- it didn't work-
The lady knew without my advise to spay her friend.
She hasn't to this day had a litter of dogs but has started a new friend in obedience.
